CMS will has established a user friendly mechanism for the obtaining of Medicare liens through the internet. Individual Medicare beneficiaries will have passwords, which will permit them to obtain up-to-date information pertaining to any existing Medicare lien for conditional payments, recoverable by Medicare from medical malpractice and personal injury matters.
